As you all know, the SCOPE Virus has been causing quite the stir in the Digital World, turning infected Digimon into mindless beasts wrecking havoc and leaving destruction in their wake. Since this is the Digital World, everything is considered data in one way, shape, or form, and thus subject to infection.

This includes you, the Chosen~

What does this mean? Well, over the course of October and into November, each of you will show shifts in your personality. Since you have been in the Digital World the longest, you will be the FIRST to show signs of not being yourselves. It won't be anything drastic in the beginning: pervasive thoughts that you wouldn't normally think, or saying things that you would usually keep to yourselves would be the effects most noticeable. Over time, though, your character's shift will get worse and worse until they are VERY MUCH not themselves.

This WILL affect Blackwargreymon, too, with a SLIGHT difference. Instead of a personality shift like the Chosen, BWG will be slowly turning into the mindless attacking Digimon you have fought before. By the time the middle of November rolls around, BWG will be just as mindless as the other Digimon affected by the Virus.

Oh, but there's more to this little ah, "event" than just a change in personality for your characters. "What!? There's more?!" Why, of course there is! Remember your crests that you have worked so hard to get? BWAHAHAHAHAHA they won't be able to help you this time around, kiddies! Once the Virus starts having an effect on your character, your crest will NO LONGER WORK LIKE THEY SHOULD (SEE THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH FOR MORE DETAILS). This means that any Digivolving taking place during this time will only be as high as Champion. As well, Cresting assignments will be put on hold. Pretty much everyone will eventually be affected by the Virus, so they will not be themselves. How can the Digital World properly Crest those who do not act how they were meant to? BUT DON'T WORRY! Cresting WILL resume at a later date, so no fretting~.

By OCTOBER 6th, your crests will be able to trigger DARK DIGIVOLUTIONS! Since these personality shifts are basically perversions of your Crests, Digivolving will be going haywire! Not only will Dark Digivolutions be available, but you will be able to do this OUTSIDE OF EVENTS! We will have a section below available for Dark Digivolution applications. To keep things fair and open for everyone, if you have already received a Dark Digivolution, please do not apply. Out of the applications we receive, WE WILL RANDOMLY SELECT THREE (3) using a random number generator who will get a Dark Digivolution. You may use it at any time, but you may only use it ONCE between the time you get it and the time the "event" ends, which will be some time in the middle of November.

When will this all begin? With your group, the Virus will begin taking hold of your character on SEPTEMBER 29th! THIS IS WHEN EVERYTHING STARTS GOING NUTS! And you all are the first to experience it! Don't you all feel special~ This will be going on all the way through November (exact dates TBA later), so take your time and have fun!

AS A SIDE NOTE! Everyone will eventually be involved with this, but we would like to keep it as hush-hush as we can. We would like for you all to keep this information to yourselves because we love torturing everyone surprises are always fun. Accidents happen, or people get excited, but we would love to keep this on the down-low as much as possible. We hope you understand and can help keep this a surprise for everyone else.

ON OCTOBER 5th, your group's discussion will be closed so that we can prepare for the next group's discussion on the 6th. Please refrain from commenting on their group's posts to keep things fair for everyone. Remember, YOU GET ONE WEEK, on here to plot and plan things out accordingly. You may plan things in other places, but we thought it would be a good idea to have a place where you can giggle and scheme in private without the possibility of the others finding out what's going on. AT THE END OF THE WEEK, we will let those who applied for Dark Digivolutions know if they have been selected.

Kind of asking the obvious, but I'd like to make sure: having a crest isn't mandatory for participation is it? I'd like to have Rin's personality shift (as if it doesn't do that enough as is), but I'm holding off on her getting a crest due to her in-game goals more. I assume it is only meant for the dark digivolution section, but just wanted to make sure.

I know that this may be a stupid question, but I want to ask before I do anything. Say I want to apply for Dark Digivolution but my partner is stuck as a digiegg. Could my Digimon hatch and go into Dark Digivolution when it happens? or does the Digimon need to be hatched first?

Anyways, the start of an idea I have for Neku is, as his crest is ~*~FRANDSHEEP*~* he will start backsliding back into his Week 1 personality. For those that don't know TWEWY basically a hateful, antisocial little turd that, as his memory leak showed, would be willing to force choke a girl to save himself.

I would love for him to unwittingly ruin all his cr. Just cuz I'm a bad person.

Well, Kaldur is all about tenacity according to his crest. He is a leader and trusts people. And the crest itself is all about having goals and finding a way to accomplish them no matter what.

So, I imagine the opposite would be Kaldur slowly starting to doubt his abilities to lead. He would feel like he's not worthy or that he could do better. At the same time, he would start to feel conflicted about his goals. Is he following the right path? Should he even be a chosen at this point if he can't even make up his mind about Tula and Atlantis? Everyone else seems to be a better leader than he is and he only keeps forcing Gizamon to do all the dirty work.

Yeah...basically just a lot of self doubt and regrets...eventually leading to Kaldur not being motivated for anything at all and just kind of...drifting, possibly even giving in to some level of despair.

Detailed a little below while I totally brainstorm on Terra buuuut once the thing gets fully into affect it'll pretty much be like an intense depression spiral for Cam. He's gonna get to a bad place and probably not realize what's going on with others because he'll convince himself it's just his own fault.

. . . So naturally people not affected/affected later might have to help him out with that. Especially if he DOES trigger a dark digivolution.

Considering I've been slacking, I'm planning to try to spend the rest of the month getting my feet under me for this game as I'd rather not drop. I'm totally up for Wash getting a personality shift though.

Seeing as he's the loyal, hardworking, and dedicated nice guy type at his canon point... I think I may shift her towards the more ruthless jerk later canon drives him to being for a while, seeing as it is pretty close to the opposite of the younger Wash. Won't be going for the dark Digivolution... I never put in for Wash's crest, actually.

So Rin's semi-dangerous when her personality shifts. It isn't that she means to be, but having come from a rough environment where she spent most of her teenage life on the run means she's likely to have her paranoia skyrocket. Whereas she's normally cool and collected during encounters, she will be prone to fits of screaming, shaking, and crying.

So if anyone wants to see an unnerved girl who can be dangerous over the D-Terminal and has a weapon, this is your call. She doesn't really have much positive cr, but I've been slowly building her into coming off as a dangerous person when she's really not.

In short, she's going to be pathetic instead of her usual mean self :) Isn't that fun...

So, I've decided Jin's been in game long enough to start throwing things his way to make it noticeable just how awful a person he can be. This seems like a good place to start.

Normally, Jin is subtle, tactful and mindful of his publicity. For the shift, that's going to change. He'll be more blunt, heavy handed, and slowly forget that his views are seen as extreme by most people.

On top of that, his Crest of Desire is linked to his goals in his own world. But rather than reverse the trait itself, his desires are going to be warped. Where before he was against the abuse of power for selfish ends, now he'll be starting to see the twisted logic. After all, he has so much to lord over other people, why shouldn't he use it to his own advantage from time to time?

tl;dr for the canon familiar: he'll be acting like he's been taking lessons from both Margulis and Sergius.

So I'm of two minds for Terra. I could work the friendship angle in multiple ways and make it so she just does not CARE about helping people or having friends anymore. More apathetic than anything.

...Or I could eventually go full-on Apprentice territory. Honestly I can see her transitioning this far, if things work right. I'm honestly just really open to everything.

I think for Beastboy he'll find himself becoming more like how I view his comic book counterpart when he's poorly written.

Cynical, grumpy, full of self loathing and dissatisfaction at how things have turned out. Bitter and occasionally cold. Short tempered and aggressive. All and all a total jerk.

Also a pervert and a dog, so he'll probably make plenty of inappropriate comments.

Well after a thought of thought, I have decided to go for it. I mean Donnie has been trying to be nice, supportive, and caring to everyone and so far hasn't had any serious issues with anyone that he has CR with (aside from Hiccup, but that's a different story.). And after all that has happened with the Dark Field and Kamemon's death, now seems as good a time as any to do this.

The shift will be slow with Donnie just being a little more temperamental than normal. But overtime, he will become far more hateful, snide, and violent to everyone, including his own brother. In other words, eh's going to be very unplesant to be around. But because he has the Love Crest, it will result in his Digiegg not hatching until he snaps out of it, and that is only going to make him worst.

So if you'd like to plot anything with hateful!Donnie, bring it on!

REASON: Kaldur, being corrupted by the SCOPE virus, would start to lose his drive and question his abilities to lead and fight on. He would probably start to think he's been a terrible leader, that he is a failure, and that he is continuing to drive Gizamon into danger that neither he or his digimon are ready for. This doubt and lack of motivation will trigger the evolution because Kaldur will give into despair, questioning all of his previous calls as leader.

This is probably the only time he would trigger a dark digivolution |D

REASON: SO THAT DARK DIGIVOLUTION. Cam's crest is the Crest of Courage. The early manipulations will probably cause him to...well, act more recklessly and not thinking at all for himself. Later he will completely lose any courageousness in him. But at the start, this thinking would definitely trigger a Dark Digivolution, once the courage gets self-destructive as "even if I get hurt, it's fine."

I WILL NOTE since I'm a mod, if he gets chosen and someone else really has their heart set on it, I can back out. :)

More specifically, Ryan will probably realize that he's becoming like his sister and people are acting kind of weird, try to do something and fix it, fuck up really badly because he's not embodying his crest, and then bam. Dark digivolution.

DARK DIGIVOLUTION: Angewomon.
REASON: Without her emotions, Alex is going to be far less passionate than normal, and seeking knowledge for knowledge's sake is going to lead her into attempting things like theurgy, knowledge that she never cared about before because it doesn't have the practical applications she wanted. Her crest, Desire, was originally there because knowledge was the means to an end for her, as she was full of selfish desire to do good. (It makes sense, I swear.)

Now, she's dispassionate, learning for learning's sake- Her desire has shifted to things with no practical use. The burning passion behind her desire is gone, leading to a cold, inhumane one, twisting the shape of desire. (The reason for a Dark Digivolution leading to angel is due to Hermetic themes, that a summoned angel can grant the summoner knowledge, combined with lore about Ophanimon's own capability for Falldown Mode.)

PARTNER: Agumon
LOCKED DIGIVOLUTION: None of Masaru's forms are locked, but Agumon > GeoGreymon > RizeGreymon > ShineGreymon
DARK DIGIVOLUTION: Darkdramon, because of irony, and because no dark versions of GeoGreymon's line technically exist save for ShineGreymon Ruin Mode, which would be overdoing it.

If you don't want him to go to the final level, I suggest Megadramon as a back-up.
REASON: Masaru, when affected, would become a betrayal of everything he believes in. He'd start behaving irresponsibly, dishonorably, and seek out opponents in order to viciously beat them down. His rage would be less righteous, and more sadistic and vitriolic. This would cause his partner to be overcome by Masaru's anger and despair.

As intriguing as this all is, I think it would be better to opt Fluttershy out of this. Choco's already undergone a Dark Digivolution (and died for it XD), she doesn't have a crest, and she's already pretty shaky in terms of confidence and self-esteem. Her personality has already been a little warped as it is, I don't think the virus can do much worse XD

I'd totally be okay with plotting with other people who do have characters affected by the virus, though X3
